no one would buy that, unless it was some crazy-*** mac with 50's picture on it...
I'd buy it and paint it white.

I'm all for helping the kids but why do they have to have 50's picture on it?

From engadget:
When we contacted him about this story, Mr. Jobs had little to say about the company's future plans, but his suggestion that we "step off" or risk having a "cap busted" somewhere unpleasant makes us think that Forbes might just be on to something here.

Hehe....

But is it just me, or is it far more likely that Apple might start offering a 50cent iPod?

I'm with Graphite on this one...

I'm not a fan of 50 cent or g-unit, but if Apple is going to produce a budget computer for inner city families I think that is a great idea, more so if they donate many of them to low income households

^ Sell budget PC's and donate the income to low income households? If they are "budget" they wont make loads of money on it, like the iMac or the MacBook Pro does.

i think its a good idea to help low income familes obtain computers. will they put "50's" picture on it. i highly doubt it, i think the site that wrote that article created that as a conception of what THEY think it might look like. apple hasnt even said anything about the venture, there is no way they would release a picture like that. what do i think it would look like if they went along with it? well, it might say "G-Unit" in some graffitti font, but titantium color or something. i dont think apple will be throwing color pictures on their computers any time soon.
