I have recently joined the Mac family with my iMac 20.

I have an interest in getting an MP3 player.

Question -- Am I limited to the iPod brand of MP3
player ?

thanks! Chris

Yes for the most part unless they make Mac drivers which I don't know if any do. But why would you want to waste money on anything but an iPod?

The early irivers came with mac software. I have a 790 that I use for recording and it works great with the mac. If you can find them they are usually on sale. However the biggest is 1 gig I think.

There is an application that lets you use a creative mp3 player, I have it but I don't really use it (only for my brothers sake), it's called XNJB (wierd name but hey it works) you can get it from wetnet who produce it. Of course this is only if you use a creative mp3 player (not the nano since that is plug n play)

Most of the cheaper sticks are just usb mass storage devices anyway, so you can just drag & drop playlists from iTunes into the appropriate folder using the finder.

But seriously - don't waste your money... Most people end up spending money on crappy players first, before buying a decent one (creative, iRiver, iPod), and since only the iPod is really fully supported on the mac, just go with the best.

I recently bought me a refurbed video pod for £160 what a bargain, no scratches or anything and it works a treat!

Yeah, the iPod is the way to go.
