hello,

I purchased an iMac G3 with a 233 mhz back around December. I "maxed it out" putting an 80 gb hd, 333 mhz, added 2 128 mb memory sticks, put 4 mb of sgram, and installed os x panther. Recently when I turn the computer on it doesn't make the "ding" sound. It still runs perfectly fine, but I remember reading somewhere that that ding means that the computer has passed some basic tests or something. I was just wondering if there is a way to make it come back or if I should even worry about it.

thanks,
scatman

If It works perfectly fine, don't worry about it. Did you turn the volume completly down? If so, you won't hear the ding at all.
