We do not allow discussion of illegal downloads. Please read the forum rules before you plan on continuing this conversation. I have already deleted several responses in this thread. Take that as your warning.

Just to clarify, there are also legal downloads that can be done over file sharing networks and you can discuss those uses, but you cannot explicitly discuss how to gain illegal music/software/etc...

If your interested in some good legal music at no cost, you can try a few of the websites that handle what is called podsafe music. This music is mostly unsigned artists who under the Creative Commons license make available their music FREE in order to get their work known. Much of it is very good quality and is used widely in podcasting.

A few of the sites to check using your web browser are:

http://www.garageband.com

http://music.podshow.com

http://www.soundclick.com

There are others, just google creative commons and check em out.

If you don't mind paying $0.99 per song, iTunes store has a very nice large library from which to choose.

itunes is really great! I personally do not use it(I actually buy the physical CDs), but ive seen friends do it and it is really simple! just set up your account, and if youre in the store, and you find a song you want, just hit "download now" and youll have the song! individual songs are 99 cents, and if you try the whole album(which i would reccomend, most of the songs on albums are better than the "hits" from the same album) and like it, download the whole thing!!! most albums have about 12 songs on it, and they usually cost just 10 bucks, so its like getting 2 songs free! happy downloading!

Oops, sorry.

A legal place to listen to different kinds of music that can really help you find bands that you'll like is Pandora. Its a great flash utility. http://pandora.com/

iTunes can also play a lot of free internet radio stations if you want to discover some new music, there are stations for many genres of music.
