Help needed!

Safari will close itself when I'm typing in the url.
example type 'w' for the 1st letter of www. it'll close.
also i couldn't type in the admin password.
it seems the keyboard is not responding.
Rebooted a few times.
Problem still persists.

Appreciate any solutions on this.
Many thanks.

For future reference, you might want to try looking here first

Reinstalling the OS should always be the LAST thing to try when there is a problem. 99.9% of the time, you will be able to find a fix without reinstalling Mac OS X.

P.S. It also sounds like you may have accidentally had the Command (Apple) key pressed. Command + W is the keyboard command to close a window.

Thanks for the link anyway!
I did read the OS X Basic Troubleshooting & tried the disk utility - Repair & Verify Disk Permission before posting my message.
This seems to work for a little while.
The Safari just closes as though the app crashes.
It's quite a frustration as everything seems to go haywire.
Forgot to mention, I'm a new switcher from last month.
Have always wanted to make the switch but couldn't as I was too stuck with Windows families...
Have been using PC for the last 15 yrs.
Cheers!
