VERY hot battery

Hi

For one reason or another my power books battery has decided that when it is in use and being charged it will get very very hot. It was purchased just over a year ago. and is the 15in 1.4ghz model with 512 of ram. It does NOT have one of the batterys that needed to be sent back (checked the serial already) and it used to be fine.

Now here is the clicher, and dont all slap your heads at the same time... but

well it was droped on its side, (yes the power adaptor side,) and consequently I needed to purchase a new power adaptor. It took a bit of a bruising and some superficial damage to the casing but everything was fine for a bit, but now has started getting very hot whilst charging BUT only when being used and charging at the same time.

Has this happened to anybody else?

Is there a solution?

I once read somewhere about reseting the pram helped with battery's. What is this and do you think it would help?

Many thanks in advance
