Hi all,

Im going to order a MacBook Pro, and I decided to go with a 15" instead of a 17" (which i have a PowerBook in). I can get a good deal on a 20" Dell Display, and I was wondering if I can plug the display and run it on the highest available resolution (1680x.....)?

Thanks...

If the MacBook Pro can run Apple's 30" Cinema Desktop (2560 x 1600) I'm sure it can run 1680x.....

:)

Just wondering - if you run the MPB hooked up to an external screen but with the lid closed, will the heat from the keyboard part so to speak damage the screen in anyway?

no the powerbook, and MBP are made to be able to run with the lid closed.
