Since Seagate released the 750 GB hard drive, the 500 I ordered is now obsolete!

Coulden't you just get an external hard drive? besides 500 is PLENTY of room.

I will end up buying an external 500 GB..a Maxtor that I have already picked out on Newegg, and use it for backup

The more smaller HDDs the better off you are. Smaller HDD = less data to loose. I've lost so many friggin HDDs in the last year it's sad... umm... 1... 2... 3... 4... yes 4, since last Novemember.


P.S.- I really need a Mac laptop, maybe then I'd get a HDD that lasts longer than 7 months.
