Hi, I was thinking about buying a macbook. however, i'm moving to china in August and was wondering if anyone knew anything about apple support in China, specifically jiujiang if familiar.

and does anyone know anything about the "catching on fire" business with the macbook? that's a big deterrent from purchasing.

thanks

I dont really know anything about Apple in china, although they do provide a world-wide warranty, so id imagine there is something over there. as for the overheating issues, with the macbook pro they applied too much thermal paste, 3 big blobs of it in fact! if you remove this thermal paste, clean it using a type of acetone, and then re-apply some like artic silver, but not too much. This should reduce the temp.

If you have a macbook i think they are fine, i havnt heard any problems with them yet. because its a new product they mite recall the batteries if they are catching on fire, that happened with the g4 powerbooks before.
