It's a great machine for what it is. I was using mine up to the point 6 months ago when I had a great need for a higher resolution screen for a particular application at work. It is perfectly adequate for email, word processing, internet access, etc. And I'm talking about an original 300MHz model.

As long as you don't expect it to be a smokin' graphics machine I think you will be satisified with it.

Yeah... Not that great of a beefy graphics chip but fast enough for Diablo 2 (Software mode, OpenGL fails).

I'm thinking back in 2006 I was paying a lot less than $199 for clamshell iBooks.;) Something more in the neighborhood of $50.

But $199 very well may have been the going rate on eBay at the time.

I remember when CompUSA here in Fort Worth was going out of business (2006) they had a massive sale on all of their Mac stuff including software. There must have been at least a dozen or so iBooks and Powerbooks of various configurations on display. Folks were grabbing them up like hot cakes. I almost bought one myself until I saw how much they wanted for them. If I remember correctly they were all priced at around $1200 or more.
