G5 to MBPro

Does anyone have any experience switching/moving data and software from the G5 to MBPro?

Due to some hardware issues Apple is replacing my box with a credit. I'm going to swap from my G5 desktop to the 15", 2.16 MBPro. Currently I have my system backed up with a Maxtor 1 touch Bootable Backup drive/software. I just learned that the Maxtor Restore software doesn't work on the MBPro so having all my data, software and settings run the same doesn't look so likely.

When you first turn the MacBook on it will ask you if you want to transfer data from another Mac. Click "Yes" and follow the prompts. Make sure you have a FireWire cable.
