Do the Apple stores let you play with the machine you purchased at the store, to make sure everything works okay?

You can open it there to make sure everything's okay, if that's what you mean...

Yes, of course. I never have nor would I ever leave the store after purchasing a computer without checking it first.

That is good to hear. I want to make sure that it doesn't have any dead pixels, problems with the mouse button, etc., since it's a bit of a drive from where I live.
