Hi guys, i'm a newbie to this forum, and wondering if anyone knows why my Tape Drive has trouble communicating?
I have a G4 1GB ram 1.25mhz with scsi card (the small thin looking connection - wide scsi I think) and have Retrospect that does recognise the tape drive, but when I come to backup, it will probably do 700mb and then say it has trouble communicating! Can this be a scsi problem or a Drive problem?
I have used brand new un-used tapes and has been working great for ages (It is past its warranty) I'm sending it to a company who specialises in repairing tape drives, but they will only tell me what they have repaired, rather than tring to fix my problem!!!
