DREMEL IT! MUHAHAHA.

Or break it and get it Applecared and there will be no engraving.

Or put a case on it and don't mind it.

P.S: what kind is it?

AppleCare will replace the device with a new or refurbished one with the exact same engraving on it.

No they don't.
Espically not if you go into an Apple Store.

Actually, they do. Seeing that I sent my iPod in for repair and it was replaced with a new one with the exact same engraving on the new one. :black:

Will my custom laser engraving be preserved?
If your original iPod was personalized by Apple, your replacement iPod will be automatically personalized with the same text. If your original iPod was custom laser engraved by another company, your replacement iPod will not be personalized.

Solder gun would just melt the ipod and look bad (as would a dremel)
and wood filler would just make the letters a different color.

maybe like that liquid aluminum stuff.

Well, that would make sense, since they don't have the ability to engrave it at the store. Otherwise, if you send it in through the normal procedure you will get the engraving.

There are dremel attachments that could remove it and then buff it out, I don't have an iPod with engraving but im guessing it's not very deep

Yeah, I've seen people do that.

Just buy a black case though and put it over it.

What does it say that is so bad that it needs removed? Slip it in a skin and you'll never see the back of it again. Unless its hot and has someone else's name and number on it ?? j/k :spook:

Well that's not so bad. I'd think it would look better than a big ole scuffed off chrome area which is what you'll have after abrading it off. It's probably brass or some cheapo aluminum underneath the chrome plating. If anyone mentions it just smile and say well at least I won a $200 ipod in the lottery whereas you and 100 other people gave me your $2 that you lost! :p
