www.logmein.com for mac?

I'm not sure if this is the right place but:
is there anything similar to logmein which works on macs, so that i can use my mac through the internet on another computer?

It's a standalone app, that will let you view and interact with your mac's desktop from another mac. If you want to connect from a windows machine, just download a vnc client for windows and run that.

Google around for a guide on how to get it all set up correctly if you'd like to do it this way... and post back if you run into issues!
