20" Intel iMac, 15" Powerbook G4 (sold), 20GB iPod (nearing death)
When and why did the name Macintosh start to die out? I'm talking about the full spelling, not Mac (obviously). I recall a time when everyone said macintosh and obviously now its just MAc even on the website...but i dont seem to remember when it started to die out

I believe in the 90's when Apple changed their campaign to a different target audience. Mac sounds a lot "cooler" then Macintosh.

I would say right around Mac OS8.1 Maybe even late OS7...
