Two of my iPhones have suddenly renamed themselves.

I have an iPhone 6s+ and an iPhone SE. Both of these seem to have renamed themselves back to the default "iPhone" - which isn't helpful when trying to use the Wifi Hotspot on the phone with my MB Air.

This seems to have happened today I think. Oddly enough my old iPhone 5c - which happened to have a flat battery - has not done that, yet.

The two that changed are on iOS 11.4

The older 5c is on 10.3.3

I have renamed them back to using unique names. Hope it doesn't change again.

Anyone else seen that please?

I haven't seen that problem. I'll see what I can find when I have a minute.

How were they named before? In other words, did you name them using iTunes or some other application? Generally, an iPhone will revert back to being an "iPhone" rather than your specific named iPhone when it is reset. Or, if you used some other app that can name or rename iOS devices.

Renamed in "Settings, About" on the phone in each case.

Not used with iTunes, not updated or reset.
