no sound, G3 beige

I don't have any sound. I installed OSX Jaguar and I don't have any sound. What's going on? I'm a noob to Mac so please talk simple to me. Could it be my hardware, or do i just need new drivers or what?

no startup beeps or anything....i can't get itunes, quicktime, or anything to have sound.
