ibook logicboard failed/av cable

is dis right?

im new to the mac sence and just want a cheap mac,

if the logicboard failed on g3 ibook could i just use the apple ibook av lead and put it through the tv and see the screen throught there, as when the logicboard failed the ibook screen is dead?

as im thinking on buy a faulty ibook of ebay

I don't think that will work. The logic board is the motherboard. If its broken nothing will work unless you get it fixed. Don't waste your money.

yeah, if the logic board is dead, the computer won't run.
However, i'd check this out:
http://www.apple.com/support/ibook/faq/
if your serial # is affected, apple may replace/repair the board for free.

Yes, I was able to have mine repaired under this program, and I'm very pleased with the way it was handled by Apple. However, to answer the original question, no, you can't simply plug the iBook into an external monitor once the logic board has failed. All display output is typically dead once this occurs.

I have had one dead iBook (sounds like the logic board) for about 7-9 months.

I never thought it would be covered like this, to bad I waited so long. guess it will stay a paper weight as the offer ended late '05
