aha...I just discovered or found out that is....that backup using iCloud does not include data already stored in iCloud:
bookmarks, contacts, calendars, mail messages, notes and shared photo streams.....still not understanding how iCloud works!!
so I figured I had better to do backup via iTunes which will as I understand backup those items as am concerned about contacts an calendar data.
I connected my iPhone se to mbp....opened iTunes on mbp and selected iPhone icon...looking for summary folder as instructed in instructions found on net to do backup....
I could not see any summary folder....see pic
MPB, iPhone and iPad all running most updated os
can one backup MBP via iTunes also or only via iCloud?
so for this basic instruction...what am I doing wrong??
