I'm unable to install High Sierra on my MacBook Pro, mid 2012.

The last message from the installer file says:Apples-MacBook-Pro.local osinstallersetupplaind[391]: No native mechanism to verify AppleDiagnostics.dmg.

Any ideas?

Never heard of that error before. Where did you get the High Sierra Installer? Why does it say AppleDiagnostics.dmg? That's not the installer.

Have you tried to run Disk Utility > First Aid, on the drive?
