Could you provide a few more details as to what you're doing. OS X version etc. and maybe a picture of what you're getting???

Do you mean an iMac 4 2006 model?

What type of CD Rom is this? If it is a system disk, reboot and hold down the C key immediately after the chime.

I think the OS was 10.7.5.
The mac boots up to the screen.

Well, I've never encountered anything like that but maybe you can find something helpful with one of the hits from here:
http://www.bing.com/search?q=Mac+"select+CD-ROM+Boot+Type+:"&form=APMCS1

or even this oldie towards the end:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/help-stuck-at-select-cd-rom-boot-type.467704/

Is the CD being used using an ISO type image or something similar???, as it sure isn't working like any normal Apple CD disk installer.

Try doing some resets:

and/or

Do you have an Apple OS Install disk you can try to use?

Try holding the option key when booting up.

Also, do you have any useful history you could supply about that Mac.

From the photo, it could be any white iMac from a 2002 G4 Flat Panel to a 2007 Intel model.

Anyway, the resets work about the same on all models. But regardless, you aren't providing much/any helpful info so we can try and help.

Alright, sorry I wasn't up to date with everything. Okay, the computer still says no bootable device. I have the install disc. I'm really confused. It is 2002 G4 Flat Panel to a 2007 Intel model.

A G4 cannot run OS X.7.5 Lion, only as far as Leopard OS X.5.
