Lisa,

As we are in the "Lounge", I can go marginally off topic and say that I enjoyed my time in Ohio. It would be ridiculous to say I know the state having only visited Toledo (twice) and Cleveland (thrice).

I hope without offence, I didn't find Toledo.....ehm... exciting; but I did come to like Cleveland a lot. And its lakeside location. Of course my visits were on my own and business related (Cleveland Clinic in the latter case).

It would have been even better if my wife had been with me.

Thanks Lisa,
I had figured it was something like that, but I'm really quite surprised that they haven't updated their geographical position to fit even the 20th Century!!! Things change folks!! :D

PS: What geographical description do they give to the actual Western States???? Other than the "Left Coast" or ????

1. Change is not something we like to do here in the mid-west. :Grimmace:
2. We do have western states which is everything on the west side of the Mississippi up to the coastal states. States like California are on the west coast. New York is on the east coast. Very simple. ;D

Ian -

I have spent more time than I like at the Cleveland Clinic. Although I will say, having considerable experience in more hospitals than I care to list, Cleveland Clinic is in a class by itself. As for Cleveland - it has come a long way and has a long way to go. At one time the air pollution was unbelievable and the city was very dirty. That has since changed and there has been much improvement.

My only time in Toledo was not that exciting. My roommate in college was from there and I went to her wedding. That was my one and only time.

I live on the west side of Ohio almost to the Indiana boarder just south of I-70. The largest closest city to me is Dayton. Obviously I live in a rural area - hence the reference to the 48 pages of questions - I finally counted them, USDA census report.

Absolutely.

They taught me a lot - this is a long time ago, of course - but over the intervening years, I've advised my juniors to try to get a fellowship there and those who have succeeded have reported very favourably.
