Can anyone recommend HD montoring/health software for Mac? HDS doesn't come for Mac, only windows. I'd like to monitor my HDD and see if it needs to be replaced. It's working fine right now, it seems, but sooner or later it's going to have to be replaced.

I use DriveDx, which I find very comprehensive and accurate.

BTW, you can get drivers which will allow DriveDx to do the same monitoring of any External Hard Drives where they are not natively supported already.

PS This is my personal recommendation based entirely on my own experience. I have no connections, financial or otherwise, with the company.

Second Ian's suggestion for Drive Dx. Always great to see the drive's health at 100%.

Likewise here using DriveDX. And definitely follow Ian's advice pertaining to drivers for external drives. If you want something a bit more simplified than DriveDX, there is S.M.A.R.T. monitoring software available from several developers.
