Internet Download Manager alternative?

Does anyone know if there is a reliable alternative for Windows' Internet Download Manager on Mac? I only use Mac OS X nowadays but sometimes I log on Windows using Parallels in order to use Internet Download Manager for large downloads, mainly because it somehow gives me better download speeds and stability than using browsers and also allows me to pause and resume almost any download.

Any input is appreciated.

You might try iGetter. I used it a few years ago to Schedule downloads, but don't need to do that anymore. http://www.igetter.net/index.html

Used to get a free trial version of Cisdem Video Converter, and it can let you free download videos from online sites.
You could google and have a try too.
