Happy Thanksgiving, Charlie! And I second your thanks for our world-wide group. It's nice to have folks you "know" in so many places.

A lovely thought, Charlie.

I spent a while this morning researching the origins of Thanksgiving day and it is a pleasure to share this day with you all in the US.

I think most members in the UK would join me in wishing you and your fellow country people the very best of family and friendship whilst remembering those unable to do so for want of either.

I guess in your research Ian that you discovered that most of us Canadians celebrated our Thanksgiving Day holiday the second Monday in October. A much more civil time I dare say… :Smirk:

Anyway, all the Best to all those celebrating their Thanksgiving Day today.

I don't know Patrick I'd be more than happy to have thanksgiving around about now, ours is always too soon I've felt. Happy Thanksgiving to American friends.

Well, I guess you could do as some we know with family/friends on both sides of the US/Canada boarder and celebrate both — well, at least sometimes!!! :Smirk:

Actually, it's kind of odd to set aside one day in the year for giving thanks. Rather, shouldn't those as fortunate as we all are be thankful every day? Just don't eat a feast that often, or your days will be fewer!

Ian, my wife and I are traveling, in London for a couple of weeks, and everyone we met knew it was the US Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, wished us a Happy Thanksgiving and were very friendly. We even found a restaurant serving traditional American Thanksgiving dinner! Lovely!

I'm delighted to hear that. It is as it should be. You are welcome.
