I have inherited an old iPad mini which can not upgrade beyond iOS 9 so it occurred to me I could instal the old Mac Forums app on it but I can't remember where I got it from originally. Is it still available formipad an if so where from?

Didn't it die? Can't you access through Safari on the iPad?

Rod, it's gone forever I am afraid. INet who used to own Mac Forums sold out to another company and the App was pulled from the store and I am told it will never return. Sorry. Really upset me also.

I would guess it was probably 32-bit anyway :(

I believe Charles will offer it. He offered it to me a while ago. I’m no longer using 32 bit iOS anymore.

@Rod:

I still have a copy of the Mac-Forums app (macforums.ipa). If you send me your email address via a PM, I will attach it to a return email. The app is too large for a normal attachment via gmail so you will have to download it using Apple Mail.

Good morning everybody thanks for the rapid replies. This is the first of the iPad mini's so yes 32 bit apps are fine in iOS 9 which is as far as it can go.
Yes I use the desktop bookmark from Safari on my iPhone 7.
Unfortunately trying to keep things simple on this iPad which has only 16 Gb I am using only one browser. By choice I am using the Duc Duck go browser because I am overseas.
To complicate things further my chosen email client, Airmail is having problems opening email links in a browser. The links only appear in black text rather than blue meaning I have to copy an paste into a browser. This is obviously a compatibility issue because they work on the iPhone. I am changing my email client to Blue Mail because I have used it on Android and find it to have all the features I like.
Non the less this little iPad is great to type on. I can use the built in keyboard two handed, so much easier than the iPhone for documents and email.
So a free standing app like the Mac Forums app suits my needs perfectly.
Chscag, I will PM you re my email address, thanks for your offer and thanks to everyone who replied.

I have to say I am impressed with the battery life of this first generation iPad mini as well. It has been used on and off for two days without being shut down at all and it's still at 62%.
