I have an ebook for class. Each chapter is an individual pdf file. Is there any way to view the book as one whole thing in preview?

You can use PDFLab or similar program to join the individual pages and create a single file.

You could just add each page to Preview's tray. Or simply select all of the pages and then click on them to open in Preview.
