So my situation right now is that I have a 2017 MacBook Pro, and I'm trying to dual boot windows 10. So, for obvious reasons, I'll need a fast drive with (USB-C compatibility) but I'm not exactly convinced yet to buy a Samsung T5 500gb for $330 (CDN).

Need a little help, so far I've found: LaCie Porsche Design 1TB for $100 on amazon which seems like a good deal, but I because it isn't a SSD it's read and write speeds may not be fast enough (website says approx. 130mb/s), while the T5 is pushing 500 mb/s. If any of you guys have ideas on what I can do and how to approach dual booting just so I can play some windows game, nothing too serious though, I'll very much appreciate it!

Moved your post here as it is not a "Switcher" topic.

Before you spend any $$ on an external drive, keep in mind that you will have to do some work arounds in order to get Windows to boot from an external hard drive. Also, Boot Camp will not set Windows up for you on an external hard drive.

Thanks, wasn't sure where to put it.

What kind of work arounds? Didn't know Boot Camp wouldn't do that either, ty for clarifying

It is not BootCamp. It is Microsoft not permitting an install of Windows on an external drive as an anti-piracy measure and I am not suggesting that is the case with you by any means!

That's one of the work arounds I was referring to. Good luck with it as it's complex and not for the feint of heart. :)
9to5Mac has a tutorial on how to dual boot windows with an external drive so I think I'll end up going by that. Thanks again for bringing this to my attention :D

You're certainly welcome. And we would like to hear back from you when you get it setup and working. That will help others who might be wanting to do the same thing. :)
