I am trying to import photos from my iPhone to my iMac and am having problems. Here is what I am doing and what I am seeing.

1) Plug the iPhone into the Mac with the charging cable
2) A message appears "Photos in the camera roll on the iPhone cannot be viewed or imported because the iPhone is locked with a pass code. You must enter your pass code to view and import them." At this time the iPhone is not turned on. (I do not use a pass code in my iPhone)
3) Turn on the iPhone and get the message "Trust this computer?". Press Trust
4) Click OK at message in #2 and it disappears.

At this point iPhoto is open and the iPhone is shown but shows zero photos. There is no instruction on how or where to enter the required pass code

Suggestions will be appreciated

Hi poppi, can you provide information about both devices you are using? Both model with year, and specific OS version numbers. There are many to choose from, for getting this done.

@poppi:

Open your Image Capture application on your Mac, attach your iPhone via the USB cable that came with it, and then follow instructions from Image Capture to import your Photos. You can move the photos to wherever you wish.

Hi poppi

Please provide the info ferrarr requested.

In the meantime, try this.

Connect your iPhone directly to your Mac (not via Hub).

Go into Finder > Applications > Image Capture. Double click to open this app.

On the left, under devices, see if your iPhone is shown by name. Click on it and all your photos should show up as thumbnails.

Looking to your right, you can select which photos you want to import or choose "Select All". There are choices for where you want the photos to go. Photos (or the old iPhoto from a few years ago) is usually the default, but clicking on the triangle allows you to choose Pictures or, indeed, navigate to anywhere you like, to download the pictures.
