So I've been wondering this ever since the reveal of iPhone X. After a lot of Googling, I've only found one blog that even mentions the thought.
I've been thinking about how FaceID will be bombarding our faces with not only the dot projector in infrared light, but also the flood illuminator. Much like Ultraviolet light, just because we cant see the IR light doesnt mean it's not hitting our eyes and interacting with them.
So, given how often I unlock my phone with TouchID, it gives me pause on adopting FaceID. Obviously, it depends on several variables, like how long the dot projector and flood illuminator are actually emitting light, how intense the light is, and what the exact wavelength is being emitted (like UVA and UVB light, there are different classifications of IR light with different effects on our bodies). Has Apple released any kind of info on these items/concerns?
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
