Hi,
I need to extract some stuff from the HD which came out of a veteran Color Classic.
The 80MB HD has a 50-pin SCSI, but I only have external enclosures with 40-pin SCSI interface.
so I cannot mount the HD.
No system discs either so I cannot boot from a floppy.
Does anyone know if there's a 50-40-pin SCSI conversion available anywhere?
I have seen a 50-pin enclosure advertised but at a very heavy price which I cannot justify spending for this one-off task.

As far as I can tell, no one seems to carry or even make a 50 to 40 pin SCSI adapter-converter. Plenty of 50 Pin enclosures and boards but at a hefty price as you have already noted. It might be easier to find or borrow a Color Classic, install the drive and extract the data you need that way. Just out of curiosity, what could you possibly use from a drive that old?
