MP3s and ipod

Simple question can you add mp3s to an ipod or apple shuffle, My son wants to know it says to add, everything will be deleted is this true?

you can add mp3's to an ipod, but if the computer that the ipod is connecting is not the default computer then everything from the ipod will be deleted and replaced with everything on that computer, I think that might be your sons problem.

i really dont get why the ipod can work on macs and pc's when in windows format but not in mac format

Because Microsoft won't make Windows able to view a hard drive with Mac formatting, where as Apple has added the ability to read hard drives formatted for either the Mac OS or Windows.

hence another reason why mac is superior
