I am a new user of Mac. I used linux quite a bit, but new in Mac. but I am
facing problem.

to make my Mac compatible for my use I need to install FORTRAN compiler,
scilab, gnu plot and latex. but I am not able to install in my Mac. even though
there are installable programs for macOS in source forge.org, I am unable to install
them.

How to install them??

Please help.

Thread moved to better area. Original location was "iPhone, iPad, iPod >> iOS and Apps".

Appears that the question is in regards to installing an App onto an Apple computer...which is not an iOS device.

It would be great if you could be more specific as to what exactly is happening during the install. The info mentioned is way too general to be able to comment meaningfully.

- We don't know what exact model Apple computer you have?
- We don't know what OS version it's running?
- We don't know what the system requirements are for the apps being installed?

For starters...it's very possible that the computer & OS version it's running is too old...or the OS on the computer is too new for the version of the apps being installed.

What happens when you try to install these programs?

Install Homebrew on your Mac and then you can install the applications you've listed with..

Code:
brew install gfortran gnuplot mactex
brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask
brew cask install scilab

Homebrew has MANY more applications for the Mac, and you can browse them all at Brewformulas..

Thanks for the computer info.:) You didn't mention what's exactly happening when you try to install these apps...and you need to make sure that the versions of the apps you're trying to install are compatible with your MacBook Pro and the OS version it's running.

Plus there's the advice Ashwin (Raz0rEdge) posted above.
