I have two identical iBooks G4, 1 is running 10.4.6, but the other is only running 10.3.9, and there are no updates to get it up to 10.4.6, why is this?

You have to PAY. To get 10.4 or better you need OS X Tiger, which isn't a free upgrade, it'll run you about $100 I believe.

iBook 1.2 ghz / 30GB 4200 / 1.25 GIG
- what above said

these are two different softwares

10.3.9 is panther
as for 10.4 is Tiger the newest OS X

so, you'd have to buy Tiger to have 10.4

Yea, so right now you have OS X 10.3 which is Panther.

You need OS X 10.4, which is Tiger.

Then...with each update, the OS gets updated...so 10.3.9 is the latest Panther, and 10.4.6 is the latest Tiger.

Just resaying whats been said.
