I'm getting ready for my new iMac that's coming
next week.

I've loaded all of my photo directories onto a couple
of big Compact Flash cards. But I just got to thinking --

"Am I going to be able to just copy them over to the
iMac through a card reader?" "Does it read Windows DOS
directories?"

thanks, Chris

Yes, you will be able to copy them over. The Mac will create the folder/subfolder directories of it's own to match what is being copied when you copy them.

Thanks ! (and a sigh of relief)

Nice photos on your website.
I just recently got a D70S.
It seriously outdated my PC,
hence the iMac.

You know the rest of the story.

Addenum ---

Just an update --

The IMac would not read the card with the .jpg's in
the (dos) folders. I deleted all of them and then
re-wrote them to the card without any folders.
Mac OS would then read the files and I could copy
them to the Library.
