hey guys,

i have an issue with my windows installation using boot camp. I have an iMac 27", the latest model released in June 2017, running Sierra. I used boot camp to make a partition and install Windows and everything works soothly. Then my machine restarts and the Windows logo shows up however it never passes the logo to run the setup.

Things i tried so far :

- reseting the smc
- run boot camp on a clean OSX installation
- wait for windows setup to start for about 3 hours

Any help would be appreciated.

You don't say what version of Windows? This article discusses how to install Windows 8.1 but the steps are the same for any version - just incase you missed a step ;D

Also, I would suggest disconnecting any external devices during the install. Another consideration is that the install media may be corrupt.

Which ones have you tried? I'm pretty sure one of the relatively recent one, Creator something or other maybe, had some issues with Bootcamp. Not sure that is what's happening here but it is something to rule out.

you might be right, the windows version i tried was from June. i might have to go back then, maybe a windows build before this update. i'll try it out thanks for the suggestion :)
