Hello all!
I'm new to the forum but, looks like there are some knowledgable folks here who may be able to help me.
I'm starting a podcast and have very little knowledge regarding vocal recording. I have some experience with instrument hardware but nothing that is as new as USB interface style recording. My issue is the following. I'm attempting to use GarageBand to record a podcast. I have 2 Neewer 700 mics with a Xenyx Q1202USB mixer (which come to find out isn't exactly what I need but it's what I've got), and a Behringer HA400 micro amp.
1.) My first issue is the micro amp is putting out left side mono only. Which I believe the issue is being that I haven't purchased the correct 1/4" cable. I guess there is a mono and stereo version of a 1/4" cable. Can anyone verify?
2.) Second issue is attempting to setup 1 mic per track for simultaneously recording. I.E. 2 or 3 people speaking at once and have a dedicated track for easy editing. Can ANYONE explain how to do this with GB 10.2.0. Everything online that I have found so far are for what appear to either be older versions of GB or for USB mics. I'm using 2 XLR mics with the USB Xenyx Q1202.
In additional to these two main problems there are a handful of other concerns that I have with this mixer. End of the day answer is, I feel that this is the wrong mixer for my purposes but like I said it is what I have purchased and am attempting to make it work. Is there anyone on here who has any experience with the Xenyx Q1202? If so I would love some explanations as to how the "To Cntrl RM" "To Phones" "To Main Cntrl RM" buttons work. It is needless to say, fairly upsetting to have to switch different setting in these few buttons just to route audio the correct way with no explanation as to what way each button goes to where.
Thank for your time!
