Import from Aperture to new Mac

I recently purchased a new Mac book. I have an external hard drive that I used for back ups from my older Mac. I want to import all my photos from my external hard drive. The photos are stored in Aperture, and my new Mac doesn't have Aperture. How do I import photos from Aperture on an external hard drive into Photos on my new Mac? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
