itunes won't download

I removed iTunes from my iMac G5 with OS Tiger. I did this because of trouble with my 30GB iPod. When downloading iTunes again from the Apple download site, the package for iTunes comes empty. It seems the program reads that my machine has iTunes and therefore does not download it, or is it any other reason? Any suggestions how to fix this?

Use Pacifist and install it from the OS X install dvd/cd.
