Iomega Backup Drive Not Working After Upgrade

Mac mini,Ver.10.14.6, 3.6 GHz Intel Core i3, 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
I just upgraded my Mac Mini fro Mavericks to Yosemite 10.10.5 and now my Iomega eGo Backup drive isn't working. The drive is blinking and it does appear on my desktop. The drive has an option to "Backup Now". After upgrades should I back it up.
