Thank you for your info Ian, what I am looking for is how to return my computer beck to factory status, when I got my computer it had Lion as OS as far as I can remember, is there a quick way to go back to the start?

Yes.

Now, it depends on what you want to do with it at that point. If it is to sell it, follow this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201065

If you want to use it yourself, but with the OS that it originally shipped with - say Lion? - then you could use Internet Recovery (NB this is not the same as Recovery Mode which reinstalls the OS which you currently have) -
