30% of people do not have a backup of their computer data. Pretty horrifying when you think that for the price of an external USB Hard Drive Apple provide a free app to backup your entire drive. Don't be one of them. Apart from death and taxes there is one other thing that is certain, data loss or drive failure. It's not a matter of if but when. Backup counts

In front of the ongoing virus attach-WannaCry, backup counts to keep important data from losing or being encrypted. I will definitely join the line of regular backup.

Yes, not even all Windows versions. Just the old ones, XP and a couple of other older versions. If corporations and government departments upgraded instead of steadfastly sticking to outmoded operating systems because they still work this would not have happened. Windows 10 was not effected.
To be fair I think I know why this occurs. I worked in Australia for a large state based company that rolled out tablet computers to all of their field staff. They paid a lot of money to two software development companies to create two programs that would enable them to run specialised software programs that would sync to a common data base.
It took a year to get staff trained and foolproof versions of the software up and running smoothly. I can imagine this was very expensive so I can understand why they might be hesitant to "fix what isn't broken" but this is the current climate and we have to work with that.
At least macOSX upgrades are free but specialised software like patient record systems are expensive and updating them is a costly business. A government funded health service like we have in Australia has to struggle along with the allocated funds they are given and justifying a system wide software upgrade has been unlikely to get approval in the recent political climate, but perhaps this is wakeup call.
