"autofix"

I heard from a friend (who is a programmer at Adobe) that the Apple is great for a home user but for a programmer it is horrific.... His reason for saying this was that he said it is terrible programming on it because it actually freezes sooo much that apple built this "autofix" program for it to hide the actual freeze? Is this true?
