Ipod Classic

I'm a new member here and need a little help.
I have given my MacBook Pro to my partner as I've just bought a MacBook Air.
I reset the MacBook Pro to factory setting, meaning I deleted the entire contents of my iTunes !!
I thought I had it backed up on an external hard drive, I hadn't!

I now have over 6500 songs on my iPod classic but can not see a free way of sending them to my iTunes account.

Is there a solution that anyone can help me with, I did a search but I could only find pay software.

Are these 6500 songs purchases through iTunes or from music discs you ripped to your MBP? If they are cd's, you will need to rip them again, or spend the money. Did you see this, https://www.fadingred.com/senuti/?

Remember too, that once you authorise your new Mac, you can go into iTunes and should be able to retrieve previous purchases - did you by any chance have iCloud Music Library checked previously?

Me thinks your screwed. You should always have 2 backups (minimum), 'cause any external hardrive could and will eventually crash, including your internal.

@Rickman Try reading the articles member IWT kinked to in his post. I haven't used the software mentioned in the last article but have used iExplorer and another program called iMazing for similar transfers.
