Hello guys!
I have a zip archive which doesn't open and the files are not extracted. I think it was damaged due to a virus which I got by downloading a program from an unreliable website. Even Windows crashed and I had to reinstall. so now what can I do to fix this archive?

I would suggest you Trash it if it came from a pirate site.

Substitute the actual drive letter and folder where WinZip is installed if different than above and also use the real Zip file name in the place of zipfile.zip. The double quotes in the example above are necessary due to thespace between "Program" and "Files".

For a split or spanned Zip file, use the following command instead:
"C:\Program Files\WinZip\wzzip" -yfs zipfile.zip
Also I would like to assist you regarding this issue.

Please download demo version ZIP Recovery Toolbox from the following link http://www.oemailrecovery.com/zip_recovery.html
Install it & try to recover corrupt zip file using it.

Let me know how it goes.

Don't download as it is a Windows and Linux compatible software only!

Download YemuZip for Mac OS X.9 and later if you must open .zip files:-

Problem with opening zip files - Recover your corrupted zip file

Which Zip file are you using?? Is it Winzip file??
Try to repair the corrupted ZIP archive using WinRAR utility. It supports a built-in repair feature that can repair corrupted RAR as well as the ZIP archive. You need to follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR tool, click on File tab > Open. Or press Ctrl + O.
• In the "Find Archive" window, locate the corrupted ZIP file and select it.
• Now click on Tools tab > Repair archive. Or press Alt + R.
• In the "Repairing File name.ZIP" window, click on Browse button to select a location for newly repaired ZIP archive.
• Check the "Treat the corrupt archive as ZIP" box and click on OK to start the repairing process.
• Within a few seconds, the ZIP archive will be repaired. Click on Close.

Now check the newly repaired ZIP archive at the defined location.

Or you can also try a third-party ZIP recovery tool such as SysInfo ZIP Repair Tool to recover data from corrupted ZIP archive if the manual tricks fail. Try its free demo version first.
