That's a Verizon iPhone which works on CDMA networks only. I doubt that there are any CDMA carriers | networks in France. I believe the French networks are primarily GSM. Someone else may have more information they can provide, but I suspect that phone may not work in France.

BTW, newer Verizon iPhone models will work on both CDMA and GSM networks with the proper SIM card. However, I believe the iPhone 5 may be only CDMA.
