- 2019 27" iMAC 3 GHz Intel Core i5, 1TB HD, Radeon Pro 570X 4 GB graphics card, 8 GB DDR4 RAM
6 years ago I took the plunge and bought a 27" iMAC replacing a long line on PC's dating back to my Commodore PC-10 circa 1986. Since then I have religiously updated my software, added 8 GB of RAM to the original 4 GB (total of 12 GB) and run Time Machine back ups.
Aside from a short period where I was afflicted with the infamous Beach Ball Of Death (it went away on it's own) my iMac has operated flawlessly and NEVER failed to operate. While it's not a "gamer" in the true sense my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3 with 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory and a ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB has no difficulty running X-Plane X in it's highest resolution. I'm operating MS Office 2011 and work from home frequently have never been unable to open or modify documents.
I used my Apple Care ONCE during the BBOD period and that's it, it looks brand new not a nick or scratch on it. I'm probably jinxing myself but 6 years and still performing every task I ask of it.
It still impresses folks when they see it. A fabulous piece of engineering, design, performance and manufacturing.
Cheers
