The camera icon no longer shows up when I'm ready to electronically deposit a check. The camera itself works fine for everything else (eg. Facetime, photos, etc.). My bank's IT dept. compared their identical iPad with mine, and theirs worked fine (as did mine until about a month ago). Any ideas?

Well tell us about the MBP, we know it is Intel, what operating system and what model? Older operating system such as Snow Leopard OS X.6 and Lion OS X.7 and maybe Mountain Lion OS X.8 not being supported with security updates any further by Apple are running in to just this problem with finacnial institutions, legal firms etcetera.

Maybe there is an app already using the camera? Or perhaps you updated to iOS 10 and the banking app needs to be updated to a compatible version.

To close apps using the camera, double press the home button and swipe up on each app to force close them.

If that doesn't work, you could try the sledgehammer to crack a nut approach. Settings/Reset/Reset All Settings.

I read that sentence and for a second I thought you were actually suggesting taking a sledgehammer to the iPad.:Grimmace: I really should wake up more before posting.

That's ABSOLUTE last resort.

(The reason I call it a sledgehammer to crack a nut is because you lose all of your settings to cure something that might be an easy fix.)

Just thought of something else. Have a look at the app in Settings and see if camera access is turned off.
