Hi

I access the internet via a latest generation AEBS running up to date firmware.

I have no problems accessing the internet through the wireless network I set up on my AEBS, and the green light is shining brightly away on the AEBS.

However when I open airport utility my AEBS cannot be found. This means I cannot access it at all. I get a message saying "No configured Airport base stations have been found. Airport Utility will keep looking."

I have re-booted the AEBS but to no avail.

Any suggestions anyone? Is my Airport on its way out?

Thanks, Nick

How about when you attach an ethernet cable to it? Does the Airport Utility then see it?

I've managed to fix this. If anyone else has this problem, this worked for me:

> airport utility
> file
> configure other
> enter IP address and password for my AEBS
> base station
> remove all information in the back to my Mac panel
> apply

then I re-booted the AEBS, ran diagnostics in > system preferences > network

all now seems fine and my AEBS is visible again.

I have no idea why my iCloud details being in back to my Mac would cause this but there ya go!

I can't claim the credit for this fix. This must go to Mac 911 on macworld.com.

By the way, I hadn't checked Airport Utility since updating the firmware to 7.7.7 earlier this year. It might be worth a check for anyone who ran this update to make sure their base station isn't affected.
